The closing date for comments to Merton is the 24th December. The deadline for Kingston was changed to 12th December, however, that too should still be open for comments.
Although statutory deadlines are provided, the opportunity to comment on major applications often stays open longer. Planning officers are rarely in a position to make a recommendation and the Planning Committee meeting is some way off.
More information on the two applications and how to comment is available on the objecting page.
If you are looking for some inspiration, the Kingston Society provided updated comments that can be found here.
The Raynes Park and West Barnes Residents’ Association has also submitted different objections to Kingston and Merton.
You are allowed to submit comments to each Council, and these are not limited to those parts of the application that fall into each Borough. As a neighbouring authority, Merton is a statutory consultee. Comments regarding the main build are welcome, particularly those addressing its effects on Merton.
